WALT: Summarise information in a text
 Here in my presentation I had to answer these questions about what happens to the Rena. Did you know that birds can die because when they look for food in the water the oil can go on their skin and infect their skin. We had to create a movie which you will see here. The movie is breaking news, that breaking news is about what happens to the Rena and we got that information from an article called What a disaster.

this presentation was very pretty easy but the second to last card was very hard because I had to form the numbers from largest to smallest but I did it the other way around so then I had to do it again.

As you can see I am learning how to work out decimals it was so hard until I tried and tried hard. I got help from my lovely teacher Ms. Tapuke. It was hard because I thought my teacher said on slide 4 to write for example 5.7 five point seven but what she actually said was to write five ones and seven tenths.

Have you been to the netball courts before? If you haven’t you should go and check it out, It is so amazing I love going to the netball courts. Wait a minute where are my manners  I forgot to introduce myself, Hi my name is Kerstein and I am a year 7 student at Pt England School. I am going to tell you about where my special place is,  as I already said the netball courts.

It is so special because I love to watch and play at the netball courts, I sometimes watch netball on the television but sometimes  I watch my sisters play at the netball courts I play netball to but I only watch when I am on the sideline.

I started playing at the netball courts in year 4 with Mr Jacobsen he was the best coach I’ve ever had he was my coach from Year 4 to year 6 this year he couldn’t be our coach he had to coach another team which was the year 5 princesses. I bet that they will love him.

Last year in 2016 I played in a team called Patriots my coach was Mr Jacobsen again but other people call him Garth, We weren’t allowed to call him Garth we had to name him by his last name. Anyway he was my coach and last year we were in Grade A Section 2 I did not know if we came 1st or second I was very confused. But in 2015 I already knew that we came first because all Mr Jacobsen said was that we came first.

The netball courts are my favourite and special place ever. It's the best place ever I am going to the netball courts again this year.

My test results

Hey readers, Do you remember how I showed you my writing test, well I just got my results today and my highest mark was Ideas, Structure, Organisation, Punctuation and Spelling. My lowest was Vocabulary and Sentence.

The Poly highlights

On Thursday the 16th of March, The whole of Team 5 went to Polyfest in Manukau. We had to sit and wait for the other schools and when the last school came we started to sing songs like our new Maori song “Hutia” and the song “We know the way” in the movie moana. When we finished the songs we met these lovely people from Aorere College. Their were six of them one in each class, One of those lovely people’s names were Sabrina she was our tour guide for polyfest.

The first place we went to was the NZ police station they were talking to us about what they do, They also said that they have guns but they dont use them he also said their main focus they look at is comunication. One of our students asked if they use a tazer gun but  they said no.

After that we went to the ASB stand and inside was these digtal poi’s here is the LINK to the video of people doing the digital poi. It was very cool.

Later on we got split into groups my mum had a group and in that group was Aneelis, Sheales, Angel, Alisha and ME. We went almost every where we went to get a moko and we got free smothies.

After that we all went back to school, Some people were so tired they fell asleep in the bus. When we got to school we sang more songs and then we all went home.

    

My Visual Mihi

  

Hi my name is Kerstein and this is my Visual Mihi. As you can see on the top left corner I drew the word family because my family really means a lot to me. In the top right corner you will see that I have drawn a bible because I love Jesus and I also love going to church and learning more about the lord. Next is Sports this is my favourite thing to do when im board plus I play sports here at school I play Cricket, Tag and other sports. Can you see that Nike tick brand well that is my favourite shoe brand I even have a bag with a nike tick but I got a new bag.

Why people need to drink water?

Sometimes I ask myself, Why is water so important? And my answer I kept on hearing was to keep everyone alive but i’m pretty sure that's not all. Water can also keep our body pure and clean.

Did you know that water helps to get almost all of the carbon dioxide out of your body. When you breath out all the carbon dioxide comes out all because you have drunk water. Isn’t that amazing.

Eventually, people use water to clean stuff, like yourself and some dirty laundry there’s loads of things water can clean. Now I think i’m forgetting something that’s right did you know that water can Evaporate.

Evaporate means when ice can turn into liquid then it water vapours. Have you been at a beach? Before because if you have you have just done Evaporation. So when you dry up the water just floats into the air then they gather altogether next it turns into a cloud that’s called Condensation then when rain comes down that’s called Precipitation.

Finally I’m finish talking you guys might be think wow she writes for long well it alright well sometimes I write short paragraphs, So where was I that’s write. So did you like my writing about the water cycle well I hope you did thanks for reading.

Here is my poster it tells you what the three Kete's are isn't that amazing. There is a Kete of prayer, A Kete of Mental and Physical challenges and also the kete of emotions.

Immersion Assembly

Immersion Assembly

Monday morning it was a bright and sunny day. We had an immersion assembly, every team had to either have a video or a skit made by the teachers. The video and the skits needs to be about what they are learning or doing in term 2.

First team one made a video. it’s about these four beautiful teacher in team one. They wanted to learn about matariki so they were thinking about what they should do. The first thing in their mind was food lots and lots of food, The second thing was kites and the other teachers thought that it was a great idea. So then they went off to make some kites.  Later on they finished making their kites one was yellow, one was orange and one was even made from flax, plus the last one was made of lollie wrapers that took forever because Mrs Hockley was eating the candy.

The next day they went to go and fly their kites but their was no wind so they tried running with their kites, they even tried cycling with their kites the last thing they tried was sliding down the slide with their kites. Their was no use but the next day the wind crept into the school gates and the teachers kites were moving. So then the teachers kites were flying so high. The teachers were so happy. They told us they are going to be making kites and also flying kites for Matariki.

                           

Next was team two they first explained to us that they were doing the same thing as team one. But she also explained that team two will be going to the Auckland Musem during the term they are going to be learning how to make kites they are also going to be flying kites and also learning about Matariki

After Team two was Team three. They are also going to be doing the same thing but finally something diffrent Team four said they are going to be thinking about what should they do and one of the teachers said that they should make this car thing but the others dd not agree and one of them said “ I wonder what technolgy they used before the paikea’s came “ then one of the teachers said “ Yeah” So they are learning about “what technology they used before the paikea’s came?”

For the final event Team five they were doing a skit and its about bob the builder and Mr Wiseman is bob and Mrs Judd was his pretend wife she said “ there is a big hole” and Bob said “ Barrie the kids” and Mrs Judd said “ Mrs Tele’a wouldn’t like it” so he said to do a garden to block the hole. It was so amazing I wanted it to repeat it again it was so amazing.

WALT: Retell our experience of camp This is my camp experience I had so much fun, The funniest thing that ever happened to me was when I fell out of my kayak it was the funniest thing at camp.

Along with his crew they had ordered smaller ships and taking their booty for keeping. This all change when there came across the kurtz treasure of Davy Jones Locker.

Zack was ecstatic but also curious. What was a knight and shining armor doing out in the middle of the forest? Let alone wanting to play with dragons. Didn't he know they were meant to be enemies after all. Surely he was up to something and it was up to Zack to find out this night outereamotive.

The Disappearance

One day there was a naughty boy named Michael, he has been a naughty boy since he was a year 1. This year he is a year 4 student his mother has told him if he is a good boy for the whole year he would get whatever he wants but if he didn’t he would not get whatever he wants, “ Ok mum I promise I will be good for the whole year” said Michael

When school started he was a very bad boy still, His teacher sent him to the office but he saw a light, it was an angel he looked very cross “ You have lied to your mother” said the angel,

“ About what a stinky sock” replied Michael, “ You will regret this”. The Angel left “ Whatever I don’t believe any of that nonsense” said Michael.

When he went to the office he saw the two office ladies. he went to tell them about what he did but they just disappeared just like that. He saw the principal Mr Big Bottom “ hey Mr Big Bottom have you seen the office laddies” asked Michael, he looked at the office and then he looked back at the principal then he wasn’t there. He realised everything started to disappear he was afraid that he will disappear as well.

He ran back to class and each and everyone of them were disappearing individually even the teacher, he was so afraid he thinks it was because of the promise to his mother. “I think I know why people are disappearing it is because I told my mum I will be good for the whole year I need to fix this fast” said Michael.

He ran back to the office but then he saw the light again, it was the angel “ See what you have done Michael this is all your fault for lying to your mother” said the angel “ Ok I promise I will be good “ replied Michael “ Are you sure ?” said the angel “yes” he cried. “ Alright your decision is final everything will go back to normal“ said the angel “ I will be good I will be good I will be good “ cried Michael. The Angel done his spell to make everything go back to normal.

From now on Michael will always be good and he will never lie to his mother or anyone at all.

“ Michael your teacher said you have been very good from the beginning of the year to the end of the year” said Michael’s Mother “ Yeap” replied Michael. So from now on Michael has learned his lesson that he will never lie.

                                                               The End

Narritive writing

It was a beautiful sunny day to spend at the beach. Anna the cat was relaxing on the hot white sand. Her master was paddling in the refreshing crystal water, when suddenly her friend Nyree came along. He was looking very sorry for himself.

“Why a sad face?” said Anna “ My grandma died” said Nyree “Sorry about your grandma, but would you like to play a game instead”? asked Anna. “Sure I just need to have a rest so I can just think of my grandma for a little while”. Anna tried to cheer her up but she just won’t stop thinking about her grandma. Nyree wanted to think about her grandma but she does not want play games right now. “ How about tomorrow” said Nyree, “

Then the Next day Nyree was so happy she her friend Anna she ran and gave a big hug, “ Would you like to play the game that you said yesterday”.

“Ok but first let’s go buy ice - cream ok” said Anna. So then they lived happily ever after.

Problem Solving

Walt: rearrange addition and subtraction problems to simplify how we solve them. Miss West and Mr Somerville teaches me how to add numbers and to solve problems
